How often do we just sit back and count our blessings? Most of us are focused on counting the blessings we wish to have. Myself included. After reading about many cases of children in Africa, I sat back and counted the blessings that I have oh-so-ungratefully gotten. I have a loving family, a roof over my head, a job, a car, and an air-conditioned room (haha) i'm sitting on my laptop computer in my queen sized bed. And yet, too often am I hoping and wishing for more.. I never seem to look at all the good things I have received. I all to often can find something to complain about. Psalms 77: 1 says: The songwriter said, “Count your blessings, name them one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord has done.” In our times of depression, even great distress, we need to recount the blessings and mercy of God. We may face times when we feel as though we are forsaken, even by God, but that is the time we are to count our blessings. Even in the worst times, we are supposed to count our blessings. It's hard to sit back and think about good things when things are going wrong. It is surprising to count them.. God has given us all so much!
